Extraterrestrial electro-pop troubadours, Mulder are an audiovisual entity from the hills of Perth. Loud synths, deep bass, drum machines and found sounds triggered from magic MIDI buttons under the backdrop of provocative video imagery form their vibrant live show. Their honest, sometimes brutal songwriting swings from catchy pop to sprawling walls of sound, and coupled with their chaotic stage presence makes Mulder an act not to be missed.

This years winner, Morgan Then, has set a new standard for future entrants to aspire too.

Morgan redefines the traditional dj with his use of sample pads and controllers, which he works to their full potential. Its obvious to all, that this guy has a solid musical background.  As he was about to take the stage in his heat, (in which he stole the show), a hopeful, and somewhat nervous Morgan said to me, ” Mel, Im not really a dj……. Im more of a performer”.  And my response was ” Well get up there and  you perform babe.” And that he did…..

His performance was incredible,  wowing the judges, audience and peers in the contest,with his amazing skill, technical ability and stage presence. We at Limelite see a big future ahead of this bright young DJ.

All this years entrants were of a calibre that would rival some of the current industry DJs.

We would like to thank them for bringing there talents out of their bedrooms, and Into the Limelite, on the stage at Villa Nightclub for the 4th annual Into the Limelite DJ Competition.

The Stafford Brothers

The Stafford Brothers are undoubtedly the hottest story in “Down Under” dance music invading the great continents of the globe as the Aussie onslaught of EDM madness continues from Sydney to San Francisco, London to Los Angeles. Twice voted the number One DJ’s in Australia in as many years (ITM Awards) brothers Matt & Chris Stafford now reside in LA, a stone throw away from their residency at Marquee Las Vegas.

They are the first DJ’s to have their own network TV show currently syndicated in over twenty countries, have recently remixed artists as diverse as Timbaland, Wolfgang Gartner, Snoop Dogg & Akon and are the only DJs to be asked to rework the official theme song of arguably one of the biggest sporting team on the planet, Real Madrid. World domination is certainly on the cards for Electronic Dance Music’s “mates of the industry”… the Stafford Brothers.

Hook N Sling

Since 2011 Hook has come out swinging hardest. First with his breakout mix for Hard Rock Sofa & St. Brothers‘ Blow Up for Axtone (#1 Buzz Chart), and soon after with his impressive collaborative original Diamonds In The Sky with TV Rock and Rudy, released through Fedde’s own Flamingo Records (also garnering Tong support and climbing to the top 10 of the Dutch Tipparade). Edge Of The Earth (with Richard Dinsdale & Sam Obernik) on Sanchez‘s iconicStealth Records followed, with a smash remix of Wolfgang Gartner and Will.I.Am‘s Forever in close step – all releases cementing his rightful ‘one to watch’ status by exhibiting his trademark production acumen and versatility.

2012 has been massive for Hook. Hype Machine #1 with his latest goosebump-inducing offering, Take You Higher (with Goodwill), recently released on Ministry of Sound andNettwerk. And probably his biggest mix to date for compatriots NERVO – elevating their hit original with Afrojack and Aoki We’re All No One to bonafide banger status. Also in the not too distant future, is his haunting forthcoming single Tokyo By Night, coming soon on Axtone, and much more to be announced.

Stafford Brothers and Hook N Sling for Limelite at Villa.

Limelite and Sunset Events proudly announce the return of their signature New Years Day bash, Club Paradiso. Now in its 5th year, Club Paradiso returns on Tuesday January 1^st 2013 to Salt on The Beach, North Fremantle and is set to be the party season’s premier boutique dance event.
Summer is well on the way and come January, it won’t get any better than this; world-class tunes, a beach setting overlooking the Indian Ocean and partying with your closest friends in the sun.

Having built up a solid reputation for providing Perth crowds with quality acts to ring in the New Year including the likes of Fedde Le Grand, Sebastian Ingrosso, Dirty South, Digitalism, The Shapeshifters and Wynter Gordon, Club Paradiso’s fifth New Years Day outing is set to continue in fine form. The 2013 event will see international superstars Friendly Fires (UK) trading there guitars for a DJ set of deep goodness in the air-conditioned Techno Temple with our super cool friends from Habitat and Maiko.  Kaz James (Pacha) of Bodyrockers fame is set to headline the Big Top Beach Bar with special guests Australia’s number 1 female DJ Helena and Mr Wilson (4 x # 1 ARIA Club Chart), along with The Halo Effect, Zelimir, KNO Agents and Ace Basik.

Club Paradiso will stretch its wings to ensure everyone has plenty of room to enjoy the party.  The event will include full bar service, day beds, extra amenities, plus the coolest people in town. Most memorable gig of the summer? Don’t say we didn’t tell you so!

The day will start at 2pm with tunes in both the Big Top Beach Bar and the air-conditioned Techno Temple. Complimentary finger food will be ushered around the venue from 4pm – 7pm and a full menu option will be available for something more substantial.
