FEDDE LE GRAND & THE AFTERMATH

It takes a lot to up-end a good friday night at Limelite, but Fedde Le Grand did exactly that on New Years Day with Limelite's own Club Paradiso at the old Oyster Bar.

Thursday & Friday became a double banger of Limelite love as we played host to the man himself Fedde Le Grand w/ Funkerman, Patrick Le Funk, Ida Corr and Camille Jones on NYD and then a much needed recovery session on Friday night.

In much the same tradition as Stereosonic, Limelite put on a massive musical feast, packing the old Oyster Bar hard and welcoming in a new year in nothing but sweet style.

Patrick Le Funk took to the decadent decks first and somehow almost upstaged Fedde for set of the day. For the next 2 hours he had everyone in the palm of his hands, laying down funky house track after funky house track and keeping everyone entertained and cool under that f*ck*n sweltering big top.

As the afternoon moved on, Funkerman joined in with his signature style of progressive and funky house, dishing up his worldwide hit "speed up" against a backdrop of sunset, female/male talent and a now extremely well lubricated and merry new years day crowd.

As everyones sunnies came off and darkness took over, the man that everyone had come and waited for had arrived: Mr Fedde Le Grand.
Having not graced our shores since November of 2007 and arriving with those wonderful memories on everyones mind, Fedde's 2 hours never dissapointed and can only really be described as magnificent. He had absolutely everyone hypnotised as he went about pushing his signatures and keeping the crowd entertained with some new stuff.

STAFFORDS BLOW UP LIMELITE

Xmas started early at Limelite with a massive crowd turning up for the Limelite Xmas Party featuring the mighty Stafford Brothers.

The night started in typical fashion with Zelimer whipping the early comers into a mad frenzy with a fantastic set which we have come to expect from our dominiative resident.

Then the Staffords turned the heat up another notch with a Sexy Party that only Stewie Griffin would be proud of. There were blow up dolls of the male and female variety with blow up sheep (both male and female) on hand for our Kiwi and Tassie crowd. The blow up dolls coped an absolute pounding and the carnage was evident with many blow up men and women down (or going down).

This coupled with the free Manix condoms and the Staffords meant that the epic crowd really was getting sweaty, enough so that Micah rammed the night through to its conclusion with his signature sounds that makes Limelite lucky to have him.

Coming up, Limelite hits the Cott this Sunday with UK and Ibiza superstar, Helena followed by Mobile Disco at the Cott again this Tuesday. Stay tuned.

ONELOVE BACK IN DA BIG HOUSE

Fresh off an epic Stereosonic, Onelove and Limelite came together again in a big big way which saw those smart enough to leave the 2009 Ministry Annual to the pretenders and hit whores, rolling back to the big house in droves for another hot onelove injection.

The nightcranked into high gear early with Zelimer pulling out all stops with enough energy to offer the US an alternative to oil.

This set the stage for onelove mainstay Grant Smillie to slide his way onto the decks and take the crowd on a journey like only he can.

And just when the crowd thought it could not lose its mind anymore Tommy Trash sent the masses into chronic overdrive with a mad set which kept the crowd banging until the wee hours.

The night was mad and gave the crowd a great taste of the onelove 2009 Mobile Disco album. The 2009 version has Tommy Trash ripping the midnight CD, Grant the 3am CD and the undoubted kings of the backroom CD, the Acid Jacks, producing yet another corker of a set which leaves the 2009 Annual holding yet another moist jockstrap.

SURPRISE SURPRISE

There's something about Lorne Padman that's just downright infectious. Maybe its the fact that limelite just loves the man and his tunes or maybe its the fact that he reminds everyone of Zelimir.

Either way, he absolutely tore the place a new one friday night, dropping everything everyone wanted to hear and then deciding to educate the kids frolicking around the place in the art of tune. The place basically ended up going absolutely nuts for about an hour and a half before Michael Woods AKA Out of Office took to the decadent decks.

He might be a f*cken awesome producer....but holy shit; his dj sets are absolutely something else. While he sounded a little different, bringing that UK big room sound, it was nothing but pure bliss for the two hours after that. In a nutshell the place was wild, dragging along the Stereosonic hungover crowd through till 4 am and giving Perth another international worthy of a Limelite accolade.

RENE AMESZ IN THE LIMELITE

Friday night @ Limelite had a completely different feel to the place as it went dark, progressive and minimal for the master of masters: Rene Amesz.

Having cancelled his last tour for family reasons, Mr Amesz made the trip across the world, this time looking not only to please his die hard australian fans but also to show the youngens just how its done.

And his set couldnt have gone down sweeter, dropping hooks and grooves like it was 99' all over again. He had it all: a bit of cheese, a dash of sound you'd never heard before and so much class you could barely fit into an armani tailored pinstripe.

Micah and Zelimir backed the big fella through from start to finish, dishing out bombs and belters before everyone decided it was time for a nap for the biggest damn festival perth had ever seen: Stereosonic 08.
