At just 23 years of age, and having already solidified himself as a big game player in Australia’s elite dance music scene, Andy Murphy is Melbourne’s most prolific young DJ’s. At the ripe old age of 18, Andy begun DJ’ing, and in his second year as a professional DJ (2006), he polled a staggering #28 in the ‘inthmix DJ Top 50. In 2007, he jumped a massive 12 spots to hit #16 and in 2008 smashed an amazing #7 DJ in Victoria.
Holding down a residency for Australia’s biggest weekly club night “Onelove” for the past 2 years, Andy has locked in regular appearances in Main Rooms all over Australia. His immense musical talent and drive for quality music, meant that it was not long before he would be playing at some of the countries biggest festivals, including Summerdayze, Pacha, Two Tribes, Gods Kitchen & Stereosonic. These appearances have lead to Andy supporting some of the worlds biggest DJ’s including: Junior Sanchez, Felix Da Housecat, Jacques Lu Cont, Sandy Rivera, Vicarious Bliss, DJ Falcon Roger Sanchez, Carl Cox, MYNC Project, Sharam Jey, Michael Gray and DJ Sneak.
Apart from conquering the Australian clubbing circuit, Andy has also toured internationally, most recently, the United States, raising the roof in Miami, New York and La, (where he played Steve Aoki’s infamous Dim Mak @ Cinespace) His talents have also taken him abroad to Dubai, South Korea, Singapore, Bali, New Zealand & more.
In 2007 Andy was asked to mix the inaugural “Onelove – Smash Your Stereo” CD Compilation alongside New York City’s Junior Sanchez and house maestro Jason Herd. The CD was a smash and within weeks achieved Gold status. Andy was the touring DJ for this release, embarking on a 28 show tour across Australia, New Zealand and Asia.
Despite his hectic performance schedule, Andy has also found time to hit the studio as part of the production outfit “Citylife”, which in 2008 saw the release of their debut single “San Francisco” featuring the vocal talents of Dennis D. “San Francisco” smashed the Australian Aria Club Charts and was an absolute summer anthem.
